Laurel is located on beautiful Broad Creek, a tributary of the Nanticoke River once visited by Captain John Smith. Trap Pond State Park is located just a few minutes away from downtown Laurel. More than a dozen historic mill ponds dot the landscape around Laurel, providing tranquil waters for the beginning paddler or for those who want to float in solitude.
Snow Hill is located on the Pocomoke River, one of the deepest rivers for its width in the world. More than 40,000 acres of bald cypress swamp and upland forest around Snow Hill are protected by the State of Maryland and The Nature Conservancy. Pocomoke River State Park is located just a few minutes away from downtown Snow Hill. Historic landings along Maryland’s Chincoteague Bay east of Snow Hill provide paddling opportunities in Maryland’s coastal bays behind Assateague Island.
